Michel Prazeres is no longer on the UFC roster.
The 14-time UFC competitor reportedly parted ways with the promotion recently, per a report from Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting.
In a statement provided to MMA Fighting, Prazeres claimed he asked for his release from the promotion. He said he will “focus on jiu-jitsu and relax” for now, potentially coming back to fighting “in the future.”
Prazeres, 40, had a UFC career of 10 wins and four losses. This included an exceptional run from 2015 to 2018, where he attained eight consecutive victories.
He is departing the promotion after taking two consecutive losses. The first of the duo came in 2019, when he lost a decision to Ismail Naurdiev.
Prazeres lost to undefeated prospect Shavkat Rakhmonov in his last showing, getting submitted in June.
