A series of matchups have been recently announced for Bellator’s February 19th event. The new fights are joining a card that will take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, USA.
This week’s Bellator Roundup article will cover all of the new matchups to join the show. Here’s what is new:
Brennan Ward will come out of retirement in February, facing Brandon Bell at a catchweight of 175-pounds. Ward’s return comes after a recent story on him was published by MMA Junkie that detailed his escape from drug addiction and decision to compete in the sport again.
Attempting to come back from his first pro loss, Christian Edwards will meet Kevin Haley at light heavyweight. Edwards was on the losing side of a massive upset last year, getting stopped in 38 seconds to Ben Parrish.
Undefeated grappling ace Aviv Gozali will return on the card, facing Bobby King at lightweight. Gozali has finished all six of his pro wins via first-round submission.
Former UFC fighter Justine Kish will make her Bellator debut when facing DeAnna Bennett at flyweight. Kish’s UFC run came to a close last year after she attained three wins and four losses with the promotion.
Middleweight prospect Jordan Newman will search for his fourth Bellator win, facing fellow undefeated fighter Cody Herbert.
Isaiah Hokit has been given a new opponent for his booking. While he was previously booked to meet Albert Birckhead, he is now expected to face Theodore Macuka at featherweight.
Fighting for his first pro victory, Orlando Mendoza will meet Jonathan Di Lorenzo at welterweight.
