Heavyweights will compete at UFC’s May 7th pay-per-view, as Blagoy Ivanov and Marcos Rogerio de Lima have been matched for the event. News of the fight was first reported by Cole Shelton of BJPenn.com.
The fight will take place at UFC 274, which doesn’t have a confirmed location at the moment. The event was originally targeted to take place in Brazil, although reports have suggested a location in the U.S. is being sought after now.
Rogerio de Lima had a successful 2021 that saw him walk away with two wins. His success kicked off in May, where defeated Maurice Greene via unanimous decision.
He later closed out the year with a finish victory, stopping veteran Ben Rothwell.
Ivanov has been out of the cage for over a year. In his return, Ivanov will be fighting to snap a two-fight skid. His previous losses both came via split decision against high-level names at heavyweight.
In 2019, Ivanov lost to former title challenger Derrick Lewis. In May 2020, his last appearance, he was beaten by Augusto Sakai.
