Bellator and Strikeforce veteran Paul Daley has announced that his career will come to an end soon.
Daley will make his final appearance at Bellator’s May 13th event in London, England, per an announcement made recently. His opponent for the fight is not known at the moment.
Daley revealed his retirement plans during “The MMA Hour” on Tuesday.
“May 13th will be my last one. It will be my retirement fight. After many years in the game, you know. The hours on the road, hours in the gym. Years have caught up with me and now every morning I wake up with a bad back, and I’m just tired,” Daley said.
Daley has fought over 60 times as a pro through nearly two decades.
Daley has proposed a retirement bout before. After being hospitalized due to a weight cut in 2020, Daley claimed that his next fight would be his retirement bout.
However, he later went on to fight twice in 2021, scoring a hectic stoppage win over Sabah Homasi and fighting to a decision loss against Jason Jackson.
Daley’s career includes 14 Bellator appearances and three in the UFC as well.
