Former K-1 Japan kickboxer Ren Hiramoto will search for his first MMA victory next month, facing Chihiro Suzuki in the main event of a RIZIN card.

The matchup was part of a trio of fights that were announced for RIZIN’s second “LANDMARK” card Wednesday. The fights are scheduled to take place on March 12th, with the location for the event not known currently.

Hiramoto had an unsuccessful MMA debut in late 2020, as he was stopped in the second round of a fight by Kyohei Hagiwara. He has received more MMA training since then, notably going on an excursion to U.S. gym Roufusport in 2021.

Hiramoto’s move to MMA came after a kickboxing career that included over a dozen fights from 2009 to 2019.

Suzuki picked up a decision win in his last outing, defeating Sora Yamamoto in November. This put him back into the win column after suffering a 20-second loss to Shoji in September.

Shoji was also announced for the March card, as he will face Hiroaki Suzuki.

Suzuki is still in his rookie year in MMA. The former ONE Championship Muay Thai fighter has won and lost a bout since transitioning over to the sport.

Shoji is coming off a loss, having been stopped by Hagiwara in November.

In the third fight announced for “LANDMARK,” veteran striker Uoi Fullswing will return against Kuya Ito.

Eight Fights Confirmed For February 23rd ‘TRIGGER’ Card

Along with the “LANDMARK” news was the unveiling of eight more fights for RIZIN’s upcoming “TRIGGER” event.

The biggest of all bouts announced for that card was a lightweight clash between Akira and Takumi Suzuki.

Suzuki, a veteran of DEEP Impact, will be one of the many names making their RIZIN debut on this card. He defeated a veteran in his last appearance, finishing Satoru Kitaoka in October.

Akira won his RIZIN debut in October, securing a second-round submission victory over Daichi Abe. This was his third consecutive victory since 2020.

Making his return to action, Daisuke Endo will fight Hikaru Yoshino. Endo has been out of action since 2019, although he is coming back on a three-fight winning streak. Yoshino has also won two fights in a row.

Kohei Tokeshi will search for his first RIZIN win, facing DEEP Impact fighter Harry Stallone. Tokeshi lost his RIZIN debut in November, getting stopped in the second minute of a fight against Juri Ohara.

Takuma Uchiyama will have the chance to even his pro record at three wins and three losses when facing Kotetsu Hara.

GRACHAN standout Katsushi Kojima will attempt to build off a three-win 2021, returning to face Kouki Nakagawa. Nakagawa will be attempting to break a two-fight skid.

Three kickboxing fights were also confirmed for “TRIGGER.”

Around the bantamweight class, Taiki will fight Kota Nakagawa, and Yudai Ito will meet Momoto. In a rare higher weight class in RIZIN kickboxing, Sasada Katsutoshi will meet Mountain Ryugo.
