Jaqueline Amorim, Loveth Young To Fight For Vacant LFA Strawweight Belt In Late February

LFA will crown their fourth-ever strawweight champion later this month.

A fight between Loveth Young and undefeated Jaqueline Amorim will headline LFA 125 on February 25th, with the winner being crowned the promotion’s new 115-pound champ.

The event is scheduled to take place in Niagara Falls, New York, USA.

A fight between Amorim and Young was first booked for an LFA card in November. However, it was later removed from that card just hours before it was expected to happen.

Amorim fought twice in LFA last year, having a quick showing in both appearances. Her promotional debut was in March 2021, where she submitted Taisha Gandy in 33 seconds. Later that year, she stopped Megan Owen in just 10 seconds with strikes.

Amorim has yet to leave the first round as a pro. Later this month, she could fight up to five rounds in total.

Young has also scored two consecutive victories in LFA. Her striking skills have been on display in the promotion, defeating Reena Norville and Kelly D’Angelo via stoppage in recent years.

The LFA Strawweight Championship’s last champion, Piera Rodriguez, vacated the belt last year after signing a UFC contract.

LFA also recently revealed the location for other upcoming events. On March 11th, they’ll host an event in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, marking their third event in the country.

Later that month, LFA 127 will come from Los Angeles, California, USA.
