Bellator’s 2022 schedule has received some changes over the past seven days. This inclues some major additions to their next London card, and a new co-main event for next week’s show.

This week’s “Bellator Roundup” has all of the recent developments summarized for you.

UFC Alum Rencountre Takes Short-Notice Fight Against Koreshkov

Former UFC fighter Chance Rencountre has replaced Mukhamed Berkhamov in a co-main event bout against Andrey Koreshkov. The new fight is scheduled to take place at Bellator 274 on February 19th.

The new matchup was confirmed on social media accounts of both Rencountre and Koreshkov on Tuesday.

Rencountre had a short UFC run that resulted in two wins through four appearances. He left the promotion in 2019 after a loss to Lyman Good.

Rencountre has suceeded in his return to the regional scene, scoring two submission wins in 2021.

Koreshkov, a Bellator veteran, is coming off a successful 2021 that saw him score two wins. His last fight was a decision victory over Sabah Homasi in August.

Four Fights Join Bellator London

Four matchups have recently joined Bellator’s May 13th card in London, England. The fights will take place at the OVO Arena, a venue which was previously known the SSE Arena.

The biggest fight of all recently confirmed matchups is a pairing between former champ Douglas Lima and rising contender Jason Jackson.

Lima, a former Bellator Welterweight Champion, is currently on a three-fight losing streak. His last defeat came in October, where Michael Page avenged a prior loss against him.

Jackson is currently on a strong five-fight winning streak in Bellator. His last victory came over veteran Paul Daley, who he beat on scorecards last year.

Lower on the card, three more matchups are expected:

Searching for his third Bellator win, undefeated Luke Trainer will return to face Simon Biyong in a light heavyweight bout. Biyong lost his Bellator debut last year to Christian Edwards.

Experienced lightweights will clash when Tim Wilde and Alfie Davis meet in May.

Kate Jackson will make her return when facing Elina Kallionidou. Jackson last fought in late 2020, where Denise Kielholtz scored a first-minute stoppage victory over her. Kallionidou snapped a two-fight skid in her last showing, submitting Petra Castkova in October with a heel hook.
