ONE Championship’s February 11th “Bad Blood” event has lost its original main event.
John Lineker was reportedly pulled from his title fight against Bibiano Fernandes after testing positive for COVID-19, per Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting.
The matchup was scheduled to headline an event from the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.
Lineker, a former UFC fighter, was scheduled to challenge for a championship for the first time since joining the promotion in 2019. He is currently on a three-fight winning streak that includes two finish wins.
Fernandes was attempting to compete for the first time since 2019. The long-time ONE champ last fought in October 2019, defeating Kevin Belingon in a trilogy bout.
The card still has another title fight in place, as Anatoly Malykhin and Kirill Grishenko are scheduled to fight for the promotion’s interim heavyweight belt. That bout will presumably now serve as the new main event for the card.
