Big changes have been made to next week’s UFC “Fight Night” card.
Rafael dos Anjos and Rafael Fiziev, the previously expected headliners for the promotion’s February 19th event, won’t compete on that card. They’ve been moved to UFC 272 on March 5th, per a report from Ariel Helwani.
The reason for this change is visa issues on Fiziev’s end. Despite being moved to a pay-per-view card that they won’t be headlining, the expectation is that the lightweights will still be competing in a five-round bout.
UFC 272 is currently expected to be headlined by welterweights Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington.
UFC’s February 19th show will now be headlined by light heavyweights Jamahal Hill and Johnny Walker. The matchup was previously set for the co-main event of the card. This change means that the bout will now be a five-round battle instead of the previously planned three rounds of competition.
The new matchup is set to happen at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. News of the change in the main event was first reported by Ariel Helwani.
The fight will be Hill’s first appearance in a UFC main event. The 30-year-old prospect has earned three wins and one loss since joining the UFC in 2019.
Walker will be fighting to bounce back from a main event loss he took last year against Thiago Santos. The flashy 29-year-old has lost three of his last five in the UFC.
