UFC’s March 26th could soon receive a new main event. Heavyweights Curtis Blaydes and Chris Daukaus are reportedly being matched for the main event of that “Fight Night” card, per Ariel Helwani.
Should the matchup be confirmed, it would headline a card from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, USA.
This fight is being made after the previous headlining bout for UFC’s March 26th show was thrown out. Former champ Jan Blachowicz was originally scheduled to meet Aleksandar Rakic, but that fight was canceled after Blachowicz withdrew due to an injury.
Daukaus will be fighting to come back from his first UFC loss. He was stopped within a round in December, as former title challenger Derrick Lewis finished him with strikes.
Before that loss, Daukaus has attained four consecutive finish victories in the UFC.
The new matchup will be the fifth time that Blaydes has headlined a UFC card. His last fight was a win, going three rounds against Jairzinho Rozenstruick for a win in September.
