Kyle Driscoll Uses Grappling For Decision Win Over Joshua Jones In Return

Kyle Driscoll had a successful return to competition on Friday night, securing a unanimous decision win over Joshua Jones.

This fight headlined Cage Warriors 133, which took place at the Del Mar Arena in San Diego, California, USA.

A smothering grappling performance from Driscoll earned him the decision nod. He took Jones down in every round, often advancing into full mount eventually.

While Jones was able to provide trouble at times, it was clear by the end that Driscoll would walk away with the decision victory.

Driscoll was fighting for the first time since September 2020. His previous fight was on the UFC TV show “Dana White’s Contender Series,” where he defeated Dinis Paiva but was not offered a UFC contract.

The win on Friday night moves Driscoll’s winning streak to eight consecutive fights.

Jones entered the weekend having won two consecutive fights in Bellator from 2020 to 2021.

Veteran Reis Secures Close Win

13-fight UFC vet and nine-fight Bellator alum Wilson Reis broke a two-fight losing streak on Friday, earning a close split decision win over Jeremiah Labiano.

Labiano seemingly had the better striking in the fight. Reis succeeded the most on the ground, taking Labiano down many times and landing punches from these positions.

Labiano was coming off a win that he earned against Tim Dooling at CFFC 101 in October 2021.

Undefeated Wilson Continues Finish Streak

Damon Wilson notched another finish victory onto his undefeated record on Friday night with a late-first round finish win over Ryan Fillingame.

Wilson dropped Fillingame hard with a right cross late in the first round. After landing a few more ground and pound shots, the referee stepped in and called an end to the bout.

Wilson did damage earlier in the round as well, landing ground and pound shots from the back of Fillingame.

Wilson has now scored a finish win in all three of his Cage Warriors appearances since August 2021.

Fillingame is winless through three consecutive appearances.

Morales Picks Up Second Win Since UFC Run

Former UFC fighter Joseph Morales had a close win on the main card, earning a split decision win against Sidemar Honorio after three rounds of action.

A large portion of the fight took place on the ground, where the flyweights jostled for control.

Morales fought in the UFC from 2017 to 2018. He made his first appearance since that campaign in August 2021, defeating Kevin Wirth at Cage Warriors 126.

Honorio was appearing for the first time since he lost to now-UFC fighter Umar Nurmagomedov on a PFL card.

Mariscal Returns To Win Column With Stoppage

Jose Mariscal broke back into the win column to open the main card, defeating Luke Faulterstack with hard strikes on the feet.

Mariscal dropped Faulterstack in the second round with a right cross as part of an exchange. He then moved into full mount, where hard ground and pound from Mariscal put an end to the fight.

The fight on Friday turned things back around for Mariscal. His two previous appearances, which both came in 2020, saw him lose to Steve Garcia and Sean Soriano.

Faulterstack’s previous fight was a loss to Elijah Johns in October 2020. Before then, he had three consecutive wins as a pro.

The Rest of the Card

In the final postlim on the card, undefeated Devin Goodale scored a rear naked choke submission win over Joshua Nakagawa.

An accidental headbutt in the third round of a fight forced a technical decision result, giving James Lynch a win over Albert Lee.

Three-fight Bellator alum Chuck Campbell won in his first appearance since 2019, defeating Elijah Harris via unanimous decision in a strong striking performance.

Justin Barry, who gained notoriety last year for a crescent kick knockout against Alan Benson, returned with a decision victory against Keali Kanekoa. Barry now has three pro wins.

Roberto Hernandez secured a rare submission for his third consecutive victory, catching Ethyn Ewing with a heel hook for the win.

Elmar Hernandez survived a late submission attempt from Enrique Marte and secured a majority decision win for his second pro victory.

Blake Cooper opened the evening with a quick pro debut win, submitting Soslan Margiev in the second minute with a rear naked choke.
