A new heavyweight bout is expected for UFC’s April 23rd event.
Rodrigo Nascimento has withdrawn from his fight against Tanner Boser and is expected to be replaced by undefeated prospect Alexandr Romanov. News of the matchup change was first confirmed by Aaron Bronsteter of TSN on Monday.
The new pairing will take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Romanov has scored four victories since joining the UFC roster in 2020. His last win came in October 2021, where he earned a second-round stoppage against Jared Vanderaa.
Boser’s last appearance saw him beat veteran Ovince St. Preux, finishing him in the second round with strikes.
An MMA Fighting report confirmed that an injury is what forced Nascimento out of the fight. He was fighting to earn his first win in over a year, as his most recent performance was overturned to a no contest a few months back.
