Dricus Du Plessis vs. Brad Tavares Matched For UFC 276

Dricus Du Plessis has been paired against UFC veteran Brad Tavares for the promotion’s July 2nd pay-per-view event, per a report from Alexander K. Lee of MMA Fighting.

The fight is joining UFC 276, which is scheduled to go down at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Du Plessis has scored two wins since entering the UFC roster in 2020. His last victory was at UFC 264 last year, where he stopped Trevin Giles in the second round with strikes.

Du Plessis has struggled to find a fight in recent months, with numerous bookings falling through for various reasons.

Tavares, a UFC fighter of more than a decade, is currently on a two-fight winning streak from 2021. In that run, he beat both Antonio Carlos Junior and Omari Akhmedov via decision.

UFC 276 doesn’t have a main event set for it at the moment. Here are the few bouts confirmed for the card currently:

Bout 3: Miesha Tate (19-8) vs. Lauren Murphy (15-5) (Flyweight)

Bout 2: Jessica Eye (15-10) vs. Casey O’Neill (9-0) (Flyweight)

Bout 1: Brad Tavares (19-6) vs. Dricus Du Plessis (16-2) (Middleweight)
