Jailton Almeida will appear in UFC’s heavyweight division for the first time next month.
Almeida is scheduled to face Parker Porter at the promotion’s May 21st event, per a report from Zeca Azevedo of Combate. The new matchup is scheduled to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Almeida was originally scheduled to face Maxim Grishin at light heavyweight. However, after Grishin withdrew from their matchup, Almeida is now expected to move up a weight class to face Porter.
Almeida won his UFC debut in February, securing a first-round finish win against Danilo Marques.
Porter is currently on a three-fight winning streak at heavyweight. His last victory saw him go the distance against Alan Baudot for a unanimous decision result.
