Featherweights Calvin Kattar and Josh Emmett are expected to headline UFC’s June 18th “Fight Night” event. The bout, which was first reported by All Access MMA, was confirmed by the UFC during their “Fight Night” broadcast on Saturday night.
The bout is scheduled to headline a card from the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, USA.
Emmett, a rising name in the featherweight division, will be appearing in his first main event since 2018. He is currently on a four-fight winning streak in the UFC, including recent wins over notable names like Dan Ige and Shane Burgos.
Emmett’s previous UFC main event appearance was a loss to Jeremy Stephens more than four years ago. He has yet to lose since he was finished in that bout.
Kattar, no stranger to headlining bouts, will be appearing in his fourth consecutive main event. He pulled off somewhat of an upset in his appearance earlier this year, going five rounds against Giga Chikadze for a unanimous decision win.
That January win put Kattar back into the win column after losing to former champion Max Holloway in early 2021.
