UFC is currently looking to make two big matchups for their July 23rd event. If both fights can be confirmed, they will join a card that is scheduled to take place at the O2 Arena in London, England.
Heavyweights Blaydes, Aspinall Could Headline
Rising heavyweight Tom Aspinall could headline his second card in London, England.
The promotion is currently aiming to pair Aspinall against Curtis Blaydes for their July 23rd show, per a report from Damon Martin of MMA Fighting.
Aspinall has yet to lose since joining the UFC roster in 2020. He won his first-ever UFC main event in March, submitting Alexander Volkov in the first round of their bout. That fight was his fifth pro victory, and continued his career-long streak of not going the distance in a contest.
Blaydes is one of the highest ranked heavyweights in the UFC currently. The former title challenger is also coming off a main event victory, stopping Chris Daukaus in the second round of a bout earlier this year.
Till To Return Against Hermansson
Former welterweight title challenger Darren Till is expected to face Jack Hermansson in July, per Matias Andres of MMA Nytt.
Till will be fighting to get back to his winning ways. He has struggled in recent years, having won only one of his last five performances. Till’s last showing was in the main event of a September 2021 UFC card, when Derek Brunson submitted him in the third with a rear naked choke.
Hermansson is coming off a five-round split decision loss that he took against rising middleweight Sean Strickland in February. His last win was a scorecard victory over Edmen Shahbazyan in May 2021.
