Flyweights Manel Kape and Rogerio Bontorin are expected to meet at UFC’s June 12th pay-per-view event, per an announcement made by the promotion Wednesday.
The high-ranked bantamweights are expected to compete on UFC 275, which is scheduled to take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.
Kape is getting the new booking shortly after being pulled from a fight last month. The former RIZIN Bantamweight Champion was previously set to face Sumudaerji in April, although that fight didn’t happen.
Kape claimed he was removed from that booking due to a drug test from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, but that has not been confirmed.
Kape closed out his 2021 with two big wins, stopping both Ode Osbourne and Zhaglas Zhumagulov in the first round with strikes.
Bontorin will be fighting to get back into the win column in this booking. His last fight came against Brandon Royval, who pulled off a split decision win over him in January.
UFC 275 is continuing to grow as a lineup. The card is currently set to be headlined by UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Glover Teixeira and rising contender Jiri Prochazka.
Bout 4: Glover Teixeira (33-7) vs. Jiri Prochazka (28-3-1) (UFC Light Heavyweight Championship)
Bout 3: Valentina Shevchenko (22-3) vs. Taila Santos (19-1) (UFC Flyweight Championship)
Bout 2: Zhang Weili (21-3) vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk (16-4) (Strawweight)
Bout 1: Rogerio Bontorin (17-4) vs. Manel Kape (17-6) (Flyweight)
