Short-Notice Fighter Laura Gallardo Defeats Kathryn Paprocki on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’

This week’s episode of “The Ultimate Fighter” didn’t go as expected. While the originally planned fight for this week didn’t air, it was replaced by a new matchup instead.

Due to issues with her weight cut, Chantel Coates was pulled from her fight this week against Brogan Walker.

Walker was taken off the show altogether due to being more than 20 pounds heavier than the flyweight limit during the lead-up to her fight.

Instead of that matchup happening, the most recent “TUF” episode included a bout between Kathryn Paprocki and bracket alternate Laura Gallardo.

In the end, it was short-notice opponent Gallardo that won, scoring a decision victory against Paprocki after two rounds.

The ground work from Gallardo earned her the decision win. She most notably took Walker down early in the second round and used most of that time to land ground and pound shots.

Walker entered the episode with a pro record of four wins and one loss. She fought on a CFFC card last year, where she beat fellow “TUF” contestant Helen Peralta via split decision.

Paprocki joined the show with three wins and two losses. She appeared competed in last year’s “Dana White’s Contender Series” season, losing a fight to Maria Silva.

Next week’s episode is scheduled to include a heavyweight fight between bottom seed Bobby Maximus and top draft pick Eduardo Perez.
