2021 PFL Heavyweight Champion Bruno Cappelozza will get main event treatment again on June 24th. He’s expected to headline PFL’s fifth regular season card in a fight against Matheus Scheffel, per an announcement made by the promotion Thursday.

The heavyweight bout will headline an 11-bout card from the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Cappelozza is currently one of the highest-ranked PFL heavyweights. He has six points in the division, which ranks him tied with Denis Goltsov and Renan Ferreira.

Cappelozza earned those six points in April, scoring a first-round finish victory against Stuart Austin. Along with Capplozza’s 2021 season run, the recent win extended his winning streak to five consecutive victories.

Scheffel is still looking for his first PFL victory. He lost his promotional debut in April, suffering a second-round defeat to Ante Delija.

Pettis, Ray To Appear In Co-Main Event

In the sole lightweight bout on the card, Anthony Pettis and Stevie Ray will meet. The four other lightweight bouts set to take place during the second leg of the regular season will go down at the June 17th show.

Pettis picked up his first PFL victory last month, submitting Bellator alum Myles Price in the first round with a triangle choke. This turned things around for the UFC vet, as his debut year with the promotion saw him take two consecutive losses.

Ray, also a former UFC fighter, suffered a loss in his PFL debut in April. He went the distance in his fight, dropping a unanimous decision to Alexander Martinez in the end.

Two More Fights Expected For Main Card

A pair of featherweights and heavyweights are also expected to appear on the main card for PFL’s June 24th show.

The sole featherweight fight on the main card will see 2021 finalist Chris Wade face Kyle Bochniak.

Wade scored three points in his first victory of the year, going the distance against former champion Lance Palmer for a decision win. Bochniak was on the losing side of a decision against Bubba Jenkins.

At heavyweight, Renan Ferreira and Klidson Abreu will face off.

Ferreira scored an incredibly quick victory last month, stopping Jamelle Jones in just 25 seconds with strikes. Abreu had a much longer fight, going the distance against Adam Keresh, but he too picked up a win.
