While UFC’s June 4th event is now just days away, changes are still being made to the card. Two new matchups have reportedly joined the lineup recently, which is scheduled to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Herrig, Kowalkiewicz Rematch Booked
A rematch between strawweights Felice Herrig and Karolina Kowalkiewicz is expected to take place.
Herrig and Kowalkiewicz first met in April 2018, when Kowalkiewicz walked away with a close split decision victory.
That fight was the last time Kowalkiewicz scored a win as a pro thus far. She has struggled against an array of tough competition in recent years, causing her to compile a five-fight skid.
Kowalkiewicz last appeared at UFC 265, when she suffered a first-round submission against Jessica Penne.
Herrig will also be fighting to break a losing streak. She has lost three consecutive bouts in recent years and will be looking for her first win since 2017.
Argueta Takes Short-Notice Fight Against Jackson
LFA Bantamweight Champion Dan Argueta will make his UFC debut on Saturday night, taking a short-notice booking against Damon Jackson. News of the fight was first confirmed by Marcel Dorff of Eurosport Netherlands.
Argueta will be moving up to featherweight for this booking. He is replacing Darrick Minner, who pulled out of the fight due to a concussion.
The prospect holds an undefeated record of eight wins. He earned LFA’s 135-pound belt in his last showing, going five rounds in May against Diego Silva for a split decision victory.
Argueta notably appeared on “The Ultimate Fighter” last year. He lost in the opening round of the bracket against Ricky Turcios, who went on to win the season.
Jackson has won three of his four UFC fights. He scored a submission win in his last outing, catching Kamuela Kirk with an arm triangle choke in March.
