Rani Yahya won’t have a chance to face former UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt next month.
Yahya, a veteran of the UFC cage, has been pulled from his July 9th booking against Garbrandt due to a neck injury, per Cole Shelton of BJPenn.com.
The matchup was scheduled to be part of a “Fight Night” card from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
With just a few weeks until the event, it is not known if Garbrandt will get a new opponent. The booking was set to give Garbrandt a chance to break a two-fight losing streak that he took last year.
Yahya was fighting to score his third consecutive win as of late. He had a successful 2021, defeating both Ray Rodriguez and Kang Kyung-ho in the UFC cage.
UFC’s July 9th show is currently scheduled to be headlined by lightweights Rafael dos Anjos and Rafael Fiziev.
