Appearing for the first time since taking his sole UFC loss, Giga Chikadze is expected to meet Sodiq Yusuff at the promotion’s September 17th card.
The fight will appear in the co-main event slot of a “Fight Night” card that doesn’t have a confirmed location yet, per an announcement made by the promotion Saturday.
Chikadze suffered his first UFC loss early this year, losing a unanimous decision to veteran Calvin Kattar. The bout snapped an impressive seven-fight winning streak that he attained in the promotion, which included three finish victories.
The loss was also Chikadze’s first-ever main event appearance on a UFC card. Now with another tough name ahead of him, he has the chance to turn things around.
Yusuff bounced back from his only UFC loss in his last appearance, defeating experienced name Alex Cacares via decision in March. His defeat came a year before then, when he dropped a decision to Arnold Allen.
