Hakeem Dawodu vs. Julian Erosa Booked For UFC 279

A high-profile matchup at featherweight is expected to join UFC’s September 10th pay-per-view card.

Hakeem Dawodu and Julian Erosa have been booked to appear at UFC 279, as first reported by Nolan King and Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie. The matchup is joining a card that doesn’t have a confirmed location currently.

Dawodu bounced back from a loss earlier this year, earning a decision victory over “The Ultimate Fighter” winner Mike Trizano.

The fight improved his promotional record to a solid six wins and two losses and put him back on track to continue his climb up the featherweight division.

On the other side of the matchup, Erosa is amid a strong run since re-joining the UFC roster in 2020.

Currently on his second campaign in the UFC, Erosa has attained four wins through five appearances, with three wins coming via finish. He went the distance earlier this year against Steven Peterson, winning in the end via split decision.

A welterweight fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Nate Diaz is currently scheduled to headline UFC 279. Here is an updated look at the card:

Bout 6: Khamzat Chimaev (11-0) vs. Nate Diaz (20-13) (Welterweight)
