Bellator Featherweight Champion Cris Cyborg will make her professional boxing debut next month.
Cyborg has been booked to face Simone Silva for a September 25th show at the Paranaense Arena in Curitiba, Brazil, as announced on Ariel Helwani’s “MMA Hour” earlier this week.
The fight is the headlining bout of an event promoted by Fight Music Show and will be part of a card that offers MMA fights, music, as well as other boxing bouts.
Silva, the opponent of Cyborg, has a negative boxing record of 17 wins and 21 losses. She is currently on an eight-fight losing streak and is scheduled to appear in a bout in August before her upcoming date against Cyborg.
The booking is scheduled to be Cyborg’s first appearance outside of MMA in years. Her last non-MMA appearance dates back to 2014 when she lost a Muay Thai bout to Jorina Baars.
Cyborg has spent recent years as champion in Bellator and UFC. She is currently on a six-fight winning streak in Bellator, dominating their 145-pound division.
