Molly McCann To Face Erin Blanchfield At UFC 281

Molly McCann will get a UFC pay-per-view spotlight later this year, meeting Erin Blanchfield at the promotion’s November 12th show.

The fight was announced for UFC 281 on Thursday. The bout is scheduled to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, USA.

McCann has received some buzz as of late for scoring a pair of flashy wins in front of large crowds in London, England.

McCann most recently scored a first-round finish win against Hannah Goldy in July, dropping her in the first round of a bout with a spinning elbow. That fight was her third victory within a year’s time, previously also knocking out Luana Carolina and beating Kim Ji-yeon on scorecards.

Along with Paddy Pimblett, McCann has been noted as one of the rising names that have gained notoriety from UFC’s recent pair of shows in England. Now set to head back to U.S. soil, she’ll have the chance to keep that going later this year on a pay-per-view card.

McCann will be attempting to hand Blanchfield her first UFC loss.

Blanchfield has picked up three victories since joining the UFC in 2021. Her last victory came in June, securing a second-round submission victory over JJ Aldrich.

The sole other fight confirmed for UFC 281 currently is a clash between UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya and rival Alex Pereira.
