A trilogy fight between two of ONE Championship’s most successful fighters has been set.
Angela Lee is expected to face Xiong Jing Nan for the third time on September 30th. The fight is expected to headline a card which is expected to take place in Singapore but air live during prime-time hours for U.S. viewers.
The fight gives Lee a second chance at becoming a two-division champion. She previously failed to become a 125-pound champ in 2019, losing to Xiong at “ONE: A New Era.”
Lee later avenged that loss, albeit at 115-pounds later that year – stopping her from earning a belt in a second division.
Lee has held ONE’s 115-pound belt since 2016. She defended it for the fifth time earlier this year, winning her return against Stamp Fairtex.
A win in September would continue Xiong’s run as the most dominant champion in ONE currently. She has defended her belt a total of six times since 2018, more than anyone other champ on the roster at the moment.
Xiong’s last win came early this year, going the distance against Ayaka Miura for a decision victory.
