Welterweight veteran Robbie Lawler is expected to return later this year, facing Santiago Ponzinibbio at UFC’s December 10th pay-per-view event.
The bout will take place at UFC 282, per a report from Brett Okamoto of ESPN. The fight is the first to be announced for the card, and the location of the show isn’t known at the moment.
Lawler has struggled greatly in recent years of his career. His win against Nick Diaz last year marked the sole time since 2017 that he has won in the UFC cage.
Overall, Lawler has won just three of his last 10 fights in the UFC cage. His most recent appearance was a stoppage loss against Bryan Barberena in July.
Ponzinibbio has also been struggling, earning just one win since his return in early 2021. Over the past year and a half, Ponzinibbio has lost three out of his four fights. His last outing was a split decision loss to Michel Pereira in May.
