The lineup for UFC’s November 12th pay-per-view event is growing quickly. Three new fights have recently been reported for UFC 281, which is scheduled to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, USA.
Lightweights Moicano, Riddell To Battle
Talented lightweights Renato Moicano and Brad Riddell have been paired up for UFC 281, per a report from Nolan King and Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie.
The fight gives both talents a chance to bounce back from losses against high-ranked names in the division.
Riddell has been finished in his past two fights, getting stopped by Rafael Fiziev and Jalin Turner over the past year. Before that skid, Riddell had an undefeated UFC record of four wins.
Moicano was a short-notice opponent in his last fight, losing a dominant five-round performance against Rafael dos Anjos. Just a month before then, he earned a submission victory against Alexander Hernandez at UFC 271.
Azaitar Returns, Rebooked Against Frevola
Appearing for the first time since controversially making headlines in early 2021, Ottman Azaitar will face Matt Frevola in November. News of the pairing was announced this week on Frevola’s Twitter page.
Azaitar was originally booked to face Frevola at UFC 257 in January 2021. That fight was thrown out the week of the event after Azaitar broke UFC’s COVID-19 bubble protocols, attempting to sneak a package and unauthorized people into the promotion’s secluded area.
Because of this issue, UFC President Dana White briefly said that Azaitar was off the UFC roster. However, a month later he was reportedly given a “second chance” as a fighter for the promotion. He has not appeared since that newsworthy moment more than a year ago.
Azaitar has an undefeated record of 13 wins as a pro. He has earned two UFC victories, including a 2020 victory over Khama Worthy.
Frevola broke a two-fight skid in his last appearance, handing UFC newcomer Genaro Valdez his first pro loss with a first-round finish.
Kowalkiewicz Booked Against Gomez Juarez
Appearing for the first time since ending a long losing streak, Karolina Kowalkiewicz will meet Silvana Gomez Juarez in a strawweight bout. Carlos Contreras Legaspi of ESPN Desportes first reported the bout on Thursday.
Kowalkiewicz, a former title challenger, broke an extensive five-fight losing streak earlier this year, submitting Felice Herrig in the second round of a bout. That victory marked Kowalkiewicz’s first win since 2018.
Gomez Juarez is coming off her first UFC win, finishing Liang Na in June. Prior to that bout, she had a pair of losses in the promotion.

Bout 7: Carla Esparza (19-6) vs. Zhang Weili (22-3) (UFC Strawweight Championship)
Bout 6: Erin Blanchfield (9-1) vs. Molly McCann (13-4) (Flyweight)
