Martin Batur is the first fighter to receive a sanction in ONE Championship’s new era of drug testing.
Batur was handed a one-year suspension from competition this week after one of his drug tests found an androgenic anabolic steroid, per an announcement made by the promotion on Tuesday.
The test also caused Batur’s August 26th finish victory against Paul Elliott to be overturned to a no contest. The fight was Batur’s ONE debut after scoring a trio of wins on the regional scene.
The suspension is the first time that ONE has dished out punishment since partnering with International Doping Tests & Management (IDTM). ONE’s anti-doping program with IDTM first launched in August ahead of their debut event on streaming service Amazon Prime Video.
