Derrick Lewis To Face Serghei Spivac In November 19th UFC Main Event

Derrick Lewis will attempt to break a losing streak later this year, facing rising heavyweight Serghei Spivac in the main event of UFC’s November 19th card. The matchup was confirmed by the UFC recently and is joining a card that doesn’t have a location announced for it yet.

Lewis, a high-profile heavyweight, has struggled in 2022 thus far. He made his first appearance of the year in February, when Tai Tuivasa scored a second-round knockout against him due to elbows in a clinch position.

Lewis then returned in July at UFC 277 to face Sergei Pavlovich. That bout was an even quicker defeat for him, getting stopped in just 55 seconds with punches.

A defeat in November would mark the first time in Lewis’ career that he would fall into a three-fight losing streak. His last win dates back to late 2021, when he handed Chris Daukaus his first UFC loss in the main event of a “Fight Night” card.

Spivac has slowly climbed up the UFC ranks in recent years. He has won four of his five fights since 2021, with three of those appearances coming via finish. The November booking is scheduled to be his first UFC booking in a five-round bout.

Spivac’s last victory was just last month, stopping Augusto Sakai in the second round with strikes.
