Shavkat Rakhmonov will have a tough challenge in his fifth UFC appearance, facing tough contender Geoff Neal at the promotion’s January 14th card. The bout, which was first reported by Brett Okamoto of ESPN, is joining a card that doesn’t have a confirmed location at the moment.
Rakhmonov’s pro record currently sits at an impressive 16 victories. He has finished all four of his opponents since entering the UFC roster in 2020. His last victory was his biggest yet, earning a second-round submission victory against Neil Magny in June.
Neal is entering this bout with the momentum of two consecutive wins. He picked up a finish victory in his last bout, scoring a third-round stoppage against contender Vicente Luque just two months back.
UFC’s first card of 2022 is currently scheduled to be headlined by middleweights Kelvin Gastelum and Nassourdine Imavov. Here are the few bouts that have been reported for the card thus far:
