Report: UFC 284 Expected To Land In Perth, Australia

UFC will return to Perth, Australia for a pay-per-view event next year, per a report from Josh Zimmerman and Bryce Luff of PerthNow.

Perth Tourism Minister Roger Cook is expected to hold a press conference this week to announce UFC 284 for February 12th, per the report.

PerthNow is reporting that Cook will be joined by UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski to reveal that the event will take place at The RAC Arena.

The announcement will mark UFC’s first appearance in the country in years. The promotion’s last appearance in the country dates back to 2019, when Israel Adesanya faced Robert Whittaker in the main event of UFC 243 in Melbourne.

UFC has only specifically visited Perth once in its past. Their sole appearance in the city was in 2018 for PPV event UFC 221.

UFC’s Australian roster has continued to grown in recent years. Per database Roster Watch, UFC currently has 13 fighters representing the country. Of them, four (Jack Della Maddalena, Casey O’Neill, Jacob Malkoun, Joshua Culibao) have debuted since the promotion’s last appearance in the country.
