One of the most anticipated UFC debuts in recent memory will have to wait.
Undefeated middleweight Bo Nickal is out of his December 12th fight against Jamie Pickett, per a report from Nolan King of MMA Junkie. The fight was set to take place on UFC 282 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
An injury reportedly took Nickal out of the fight. It is not known currently if Pickett will get a new opponent for the card.
The fight was scheduled to be Nickal’s first time competing in the UFC cage. The decorated former NCAA freestyle wrestler has picked up three wins since switching to MMA.
Nickal’s pro debut lasted just 33 seconds in June, stopping an opponent on the regional scene with punches. He then appeared twice on the most recent season of UFC TV show “Dana White’s Contender Series,” submitting two opponents in roughly a minute each before he secured a UFC contract.
MMA Junkie’s report states that Nickal is now aiming to make his UFC debut in March 2023.
A rematch between UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jiri Prochazka and Glover Teixeira is currently scheduled to headline UFC 282 in December.
