After his first UFC main event booking fell through, featherweight prospect Bryce Mitchell might get paired up against Ilia Topuria.
UFC is currently aiming to put that matchup on their December 10th pay-per-view card from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, per a report from David Van Auken of Fight Bananas.
Mitchell was previously booked to headline UFC’s November 5th “Fight Night” card. However, that plan was cancelled recently after opponent Movsar Evloev suffered an injury.
Mitchell currently holds an impressive undefeated record of 15 wins, including six inside the UFC cage.
While Mitchell won’t be competing in a five-round fight in his new booking, he still gets to face a fellow undefeated contender in the division.
Topuria has maintained a flawless MMA record through 12 fights. He scored his fourth UFC victory earlier this year, stopping Jai Herbert in the second round of a bout with punches.
A rematch between UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jiri Prochazka and Glover Teixeira is expected to headline UFC 282 late this year. Here’s how the show looks now:
