The final of four UFC events at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi takes place on July 25th. The final few matchups for the card were announced on Thursday via ESPN’s MMA channel. Here’s the new additions.
Alex Oliveira vs. Peter Sobotta
The biggest of all fight announcements sees Alex Oliviera booked against welterweight Peter Sobotta. Oliveira ended a three-fight skid in his last matchup, earning a split decision victory over Max Griffin.
Sobotta has been absent from MMA for over two years, last competing in March of 2018 in a loss to Leon Edwards.
Danny Roberts vs. Nicolas Dalby
Another main card fight in the welterweight division sees Danny Roberts compete against Nicolas Dalby.
Dalby made his UFC return last September, coming back from the promotion after a four-fight stint in Cage Warriors. In his performance, Dalby got a unanimous decision victory over Alex Oliviera.
Roberts will be taking his first 2020 fight, with a victory over Zelim Imadaev in November being his last fight. Before then, Roberts had two losses in a row via stoppage.
Jake Collier vs. Tom Aspinall
On the preliminary card, Jake Collier will help welcome Tom Aspinall to the UFC with a heavyweight bout. Collier last fought in November of 2017, with that fight being a win over Marcel Fortuna. Prior to his time off, Collier had a 3-3 record in the UFC.
Aspinall comes into this fight after three consecutive wins on the regional MMA scene, with two of the victories within Cage Warriors.
Ramazan Emeev vs. Shavkat Rakhmonov
Undefeated fighter Shavkat Rakhmonov will be tested in the UFC for the first time, being matched against Ramazan Emeev.
Rakhmonov debuted in MMA in 2014, with most of his 12 wins coming in promotion M-1 Challenge. A majority of his wins come via stoppage, with just over half of them being due to strikes.
Emeev, who also has roots in M-1 Challenge, will look to come back from a loss for the first time since joining the UFC. Being 3-0 before, Emeev got his first loss from Anthony Rocco Martin in November, who took him to the scorecards.
