Veterans of the sport Clay Guida and Bobby Green fought in a lightweight battle to finish the prelims on Saturday. The fight went like this.
Bout 7: Clay Guida (35-19) vs. Bobby Green (24-10-1) (Lightweight)
Green was throwing a jab to start the fight. Guida shot for a takedown early on. They went down to the ground, where Guida was on the back of Green briefly. They stood back up, where Green defended a takedown attempt, landing some knees in a clinch. Both fighters connected with hard singular punches on the feet. Guida got another takedown with a minute and a half to go. Green got back to his knees, with Guida staying pinned against him. They stayed in the position until the round ended.
Green landed good strikes early in the second round, scoring with single shots, whether it was knees, punches or kicks. Green was able to defend a takedown by trying for a guillotine in the fourth minute. Guida got a takedown in the final seconds of the round, being on the back of Green.
Guida got a takedown in the first minute of the final round. Green was able to get up 30 seconds later. Guida kept pressing for a takedown, pushing Green against the fence for many more minutes. Green landed a few jabs in the final minute of the fight before Guida shot for another takedown. Green scored with some punches on the ground to end the fight. Going to the scorecards, Green won (29-28, 29-28 & 30-27).
RESULT: Bobby Green def. Clay Guida via Decision, Unanimous
