Josh Emmett and Shane Burgos were rewarded $50,000 on top of their guaranteed purses on Saturday after winning “Fight of the Night” for their bout on UFC’s card last Saturday.
The co-main event fight saw Emmett and Burgos engage in a very close battle that some said could be a fight of the year candidate. Emmett got the scorecard win in the end, having a strong third round where he dropped Burgos twice.
Two performance bonuses were also handed out, being given to Jim Miller and Justin Jaynes.
Tying the UFC record for most fights in the promotion (35), Miller got a win over Roosevelt Roberts on the show. The victory saw Miller catch Roberts with an armbar in the first round. While Miller is a natural lightweight, the fight was booked at a catchweight of 160 pounds.
The win for Jaynes came early on the show, as the lightweight stopped Frank Camacho early with strikes. Jaynes poured on punches until the referee decided the fight was over. The fight was a short notice booking for Jaynes, who was also making his UFC debut.
