Rising light heavyweight Da Un Jung is scheduled to return on October 24th, as he will face Sam Alvey at UFC 254. The matchup was first reported by Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA.
Jung, a former HEAT Light Heavyweight Champion, made his UFC debut in August of 2018, stopping Khadis Ibragimov in the third round via rear naked choke. He picked up his second win last December, prevailing over Mike Rodriguez with strikes in the second minute.
An early August bout against Ed Herman was booked for Jung at one point, although plans changed as the bout was approaching.
Alvey will attempt to snap the longest losing streak of his career in October, as he has lost his last four bouts. The UFC veteran continued his skid last May, losing a split decision to Ryan Spann.
UFC 254 does not have a location announced currently, although there is seven bouts booked for the show. Headlining the card is a lightweight unification bout, as UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will face interim champion Justin Gaethje. Here’s the card currently.
