Experienced lightweights Alan Patrick and Bobby Green were paired up for Saturday’s UFC card. Here’s how their fight went.
Bout 8: Alan Patrick (15-2) vs. Bobby Green (26-10-1) (Lightweight)
Patrick tried for a takedown immediately from a body lock. Green was able to use momentum on the feet to be the fighter who actually earned the takedown, landing in half guard on top. Patrick got to his feet within the first minute of the round, putting Green against the cage. Green got a takedown from the clinch in the second minute. He took side control on the ground. They returned to their feet with half of the round left. Green landed a series of knees to the body in a clinch. Green earned his third takedown in the fourth minute of the round. Patrick tried for an armbar from the bottom that flattened Green out. Green escaped the hold and took half guard on top. Green scored a hard elbow from full guard before they returned to the feet.
Green stopped two takedown attempts from Patrick in the first minute of the second round. Green got a takedown from a clinch on the feet later in the minute. They got back to the feet halfway through the round. A single leg takedown was stopped by Green in the fourth minute.
Green got a takedown to start the third round, taking side control on the ground. He landed some punches in full mount before they returned to the feet. Patrick landed a clean head kick in the fourth minute of the fight. He scored a takedown moments after. Green walked down Patrick with punches to end the ground. Green won all three rounds on the scorecards after the fight (30-27, 30-27 & 30-27).
