Fighting at a catchweight of 165 pounds, Brok Weaver fought short-notice opponent Jalin Turner on Saturday. Here’s how their fight went.
Bout 3: Brok Weaver (15-5) vs. Jalin Turner (9-5) (Catchweight 165 lbs)
Turner started the fight with a jab that wobbled Weaver. Weaver shot for a single leg takedown that Turner was able to resist, keeping the fight to a clinch on the feet. The nose of Weaver started to bleed in the second minute of the fight. Another takedown was stopped by Turner in the second minute. Turner dropped Weaver in the final minute of the round with a two-punch combination. Turner took half guard on top, landing some punches from the position. Weaver got ahold of a leg to escape the position. The round ended with the fighters on the feet.
Like the round before, Turner was able to come forward and connect with strikes. A counter right hook dropped Weaver in the fourth minute of the fight. Turner walked away as if the fight stopped after, although the fight continued. Turner allowed Weaver to get up. Landing a takedown, Turner landed punches before he put in a rear naked choke that made Weaver tap out.
