Headlining Saturday’s UFC card, ranked bantamweights Marlon Moraes and Cory Sandhagen fought. Their fight, which was scheduled for five rounds, went like this.
Bout 13: Marlon Moraes (23-6-1) vs. Cory Sandhagen (12-2) (Bantamweight)
Both fighters connected with loads of leg kicks in the first minute of action. Moraes connected with a right hook which landed clean in the fourth minute. Sandhagen landed frequently with body kicks in the first round. Moraes caught one late in the round, scoring a takedown with it before the round concluded.
Early in the second round Sandhagen said an orbital bone of Moraes was broken. Sandhagen landed a spinning back kick to the head a minute into the round that dropped Moraes and stopped the fight.
RESULT: Cory Sandhagen def. Marlon Moraes via TKO, Strikes (RD 2, 1:03)
