Continuing their series of events from the Hartman Arena in Park City, Kansas, USA, LFA will hold LFA 93 on Friday night. Headlining the card is a middleweight bout between undefeated Andre Petroski and Aaron Jeffery. Here’s a preview of the show.
Bout 1: Jake Wilson (2-1) vs. Jared Brown (2-0) (Featherweight) (Amateur Bout)
The card will feature one amateur bout on the prelims as Jake Wilson will fight Jared Brown. Brown had an explosive first year as an amateur, finishing the two opponents he faced on Tuff-N-Uff cards. Wilson will return from a layoff, as he last fought in August of 2019 when he defeated Nick Bowers.
Bout 2: John Pham (2-0) vs. Christian Rodriguez (3-0) (Bantamweight)
Two undefeated fighters will compete on the prelims of Friday’s card when John Pham faces Christian Rodriguez. Pham turned pro in late 2019, defeating Charles Spoolstra on a Combate card. He returned in January with a win over Jeremy Hudson in under a minute. He looks to finish his rookie year with three wins in total on Friday.
Rodriguez will make his return to LFA after a win over Jason Huntley in February. He has three-straight wins as a pro, all via stoppage within a round.
Main Card (9:00PM EDT / 8:00PM CDT) (UFC Fight Pass)
Bout 3: Justin Wetzell (5-1) vs. Teshay Gouthro (3-0) (Catchweight 140 lbs)
Kicking off the main card, Teshay Gouthro will take his first fight outside of Canada when he fights Justin Wetzell. Gouthro had a strong rookie year in Canada, defeating three opponents as a pro.
Wetzell will aim to move his winning streak to five-straight on Friday. He made his LFA debut in his last fight, stopping Michael Aquila in 27 seconds with punches.
Bout 4: Joshua DaSilveira (2-0) vs. Fernando Alvarado (1-1) (Light Heavyweight)
Light heavyweights Joshua DaSilveira and Fernando Alvarado will make their first LFA appearances on Friday. DaSilveira is undefeated through his first two fights as a pro. He competed somewhat recently, defeating Cody Rolling on a card in August.
Alvarado will look to bounce back from his first loss as a pro, as his previous fight was a loss to Leon Klee last February at a King of the Cage show.
Bout 5: Trevor Wells (3-1) vs. Carlos Hernandez (5-1) (Flyweight)
A hot streak of wins from Carlos Hernandez has landed him an LFA debut on Friday against Trevor Wells. After his pro debut was a loss in 2017, Hernandez won five-straight bouts, four of which were via stoppage.
Wells bounced back from a loss in his last fight, defeating Paul Elizondo Jr. on a Combate card.
Bout 6: Elijah Johns (6-1) vs. Luke Faultersack (6-3) (Featherweight)
Looking to continue his hot streak of wins in LFA, Elijah Johns will face Luke Faultersack on the main card. Johns has won four-straight fights in LFA from 2019 to 2020. Johns had a very active work-rate prior to COVID-19, fighting four times within a 12 month period. He returns for the first time since March on Friday.
Albeit after somewhat of an absence from the cage, Faultersack will come into the fight on a three-fight streak of wins. His last victory came in April of 2019 over Paul Webb.
Bout 7: Joshua Fremd (5-1) vs. Antonio Jones (7-3) (Middleweight)
After a successful LFA debut in August, Joshua Fremd returns on Friday’s card against Antonio Jones. Fremd won his LFA debut a month-and-a-half ago, snapping the undefeated record of Lamar Gosey with strikes in the first round.
Jones has lost his last two fights, although they were both bouts against high profile fighters. Jones lost a fight on TV show “Dana White’s Contender Series” in 2018, being stopped in under a minute by Edmen Shahbazyan. He came back in July of 2019, losing a decision to Will Fleury on a Bellator card.
Bout 8: Sam Hughes (4-1) vs. Danielle Hindley (4-1) (Catchweight 120 lbs)
Returning after losing an LFA title shot, Sam Hughes fights Danielle Hindley in the co-main event. The four-fight undefeated record of Hughes was snapped in July, as an inverted triangle choke from Vanessa Demopoulos caused her to tap out in the fourth round of a fight for the LFA Strawweight Championship.
She will fight Hindley, who will enter LFA after a five-fight stint in Cage Titans. Her last win was in April of 2019, stopping Brianna Smith with a shoulder lock within a minute.
Bout 9: Andre Petroski (5-0) vs. Aaron Jeffery (8-2) (Middleweight)
Undefeated Andre Petroski will fight Aaron Jeffrey in the main event of Friday’s card. Petroski enters LFA after five wins on the regional scene. Petroski captured a regional belt in Pennsylvania-based promotion Art of War Cage Fighting in his fourth fight as a pro. He defended the belt in his last fight, stopping Andre Hall in the second round with punches.
He will fight Jeffery, who has twice as many fights as a pro than him. Jeffery appeared on “Dana White’s Contender Series” in 2019, failing to earn a UFC contract after losing in the first round to Brendan Allen. He has bounced back since, picking up two stoppage victories on the regional scene.
