Raoni Barcelos and Khalid Taha Awarded ‘Fight of the Night’ Following Saturday’s UFC Card

Bantamweights Raoni Barcelos and Khalid Taha were awarded “Fight of the Night” following their three-round battle on Saturday night’s UFC “Fight Night” card from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

The award gave both fighters an extra $50,000 on top of their previously negotiated fight purse. $50,000 “Performance of the Night” awards were given to Giga Chikadze and Alexander Romanov following their respective fights as well.

The three-round “Fight of the Night” saw Barcelos prevail, taking a unanimous decision after a fast-paced fight. The toughness of Taha was showcased by the fight, as he found himself hit with hard strikes throughout.

Chikadze got a win on the main card, defeating short-notice opponent Jamey Simmons. The win for Chikadze was his fourth in 2020, and his first finish since entering the UFC. Chikadze won his performance early with a head kick which dropped Simmons.

Remaining undefeated, Romanov defeated Marcos Rogerio de Lima with a rare forearm choke on the prelims. With 13 wins as a pro, Romanov has finished all of his opponents.
