UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman has been hospitalized since suffering from a heart attack on Tuesday. Coleman’s daughter, Morgan Coleman, announced on Saturday that he was hospitalized due to a heart attack.
Coleman updated fans on Sunday, posting a photo of himself from a hospital bed to Instagram.
“Something hit pretty hard Tuesday about 7:00 pm[. My] chest locked [and] up my arms went numb,” said Coleman.
Coleman went on to mention that his daughter convinced him to head to the hospital, where they found “there was a complete blockage of a major artery.”
“Tomorrow they will try to break through the artery and put a stent in for the first time in a long time,” said Coleman.
Coleman spent his entire MMA career at a high level of the sport, competing for 26 times between the UFC and Pride FC.
A former UFC Heavyweight Champion and a Pride Openweight GP winner, Coleman was inducted into the “Pioneer wing” of the UFC Hall of Fame in 2008.
