Looking to continue his undefeated run in the UFC, Brendan Allen fought Sean Strickland on Saturday’s “Fight Night” card. Here’s how the fight went.
Bout 6: Brendan Allen (15-3) vs. Sean Strickland (21-3) (Catchweight 195 lbs)
Strickland was able to catch a kick to dump Allen down for a takedown in the second minute of action. Allen got to the feet eventually, although Strickland stayed on his back with a body lock. They returned to striking with half of the round to go. Both fighters threw a wild exchange of punches late in the round.
Allen charged forward at Strickland with hooks early in the second round. A series of punches from Strickland seemingly caused Allen to trip backwards for a moment. Strickland connected with a few hard two-punch combos in the opening minute of the round. A series of two hooks dropped Allen to his knees in the second minute. Follow up punches from Strickland dropped Allen again as he was working his way back up, causing the referee to end the fight.
