After falling off two different lineups in 2020, a matchup between Tyson Nam and Matt Schnell will be given another go on a January 20th UFC card. News of the booked bout was first reported by Farah Hannoun and Nolan King of MMA Junkie.
The fight joins a card which does not have a location revealed for it currently.
The two flyweights were first scheduled to fight in September, although the bout was cancelled after Schnell had issues with his weight cut.
Schnell last competed in late 2019, where he was stopped in the first round by Alexandre Pantoja. Schnell had a strong run of wins in the promotion from 2017 to 2019 before the loss.
Nam picked up his first UFC win in June, stopping short-notice opponent Zarrukh Adashev within a minute. He returned in September, where he defeated Jerome Rivera.
The lineup for UFC’s Wednesday night show is growing. Here’s how it looks now.
Bout 3: Lerone Murphy (9-0-1) vs. Douglas Andrade (26-3) (Featherweight)
Bout 2: Jerome Rivera (10-3) vs. Francisco Figueiredo (11-3-1) (Bantamweight)
Bout 1: Tyson Nam (20-11-1) vs. Matt Schnell (14-5) (Flyweight)
