Mario Bautista has taken the place of Randy Costa in a March 6th UFC bout against Trevin Jones. News of Jones’ new opponent was first reported by Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie on Thursday.
The fight joins a pay-per-view card that is scheduled to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Bautista will look to extend his current win streak in the UFC. Bautista earned his second promotional victory in February, stopping previously undefeated Miles Johns in the second round with ground and pound. He now has an opportunity to build off the momentum of his past two years in March.
Jones will be returning after making his UFC debut in 2020. While Jones initially picked up an upset win against Timur Valiev in his debut performance, the fight was later overturned to a no contest due to the Nevada Athletic Commission finding marijuana in his drug test.
Costa, the original opponent for Jones, announced his withdrawal from his fight earlier in the week.
