ONE Championship has announced the lineup for an eight-woman atomweight (115 lbs) tournament that will begin on May 28th. The winner of the bracket will get a title shot against Angela Lee, the current champion of the division.
The bracket sees the return of numerous recognizable ONE names along with new faces to the promotion.
Former RIZIN Super Atomweight Champion Seo Hee Ham will make her ONE debut in the opening round of the tournament. Ham, a former UFC fighter, had a campaign throughout 2019 that culminated with her defeating Ayaka Hamasaki to take RIZIN’s 108-pound belt. The South Korean vet vacated her RIZIN belt in October and remained and has remained out of competition for a year now.
Former ONE kickboxing and Muay Thai champ Stamp Fairtex was named as an entrant in the grand prix. Stamp has built her MMA career since joining ONE in 2019. She took her first loss as a pro last month, losing via submission to Alyona Rassohyna.
Rising contender Meng Bo will look to continue her win streak in the tournament. Bo earned her third ONE victory last month, fighting to a decision against Samara Santos.
Returning after winning her ONE debut against Stamp Fairtex last month, Alyona Rassohyna will fight in the tournament as well. The Ukrainian fighter brings an experienced record to the cage that includes nearly a dozen submission wins.
ONE newcomer Alyse Anderson will enter the promotion as part of the bracket’s opening round. Anderson has a pro record of five wins and one loss, with two of her victories happening in Invicta FC.
Undefeated talent Itsuki Hirata will return to flagship ONE programming with her participation in the tournament. She picked up her fourth win as a pro on Monday, stopping Miku Nakamura on a “Road to ONE” card.
Similar to Hirata, Ritu Phogat will have her four-fight undefeated record tested in the tournament. While Phogat has competed as a pro for just over a year now, she has seen nothing but success in her fights. Competing on one of ONE’s last cards in 2020, Phogat defeated Jomary Torres within a round with strikes.
Denice Zamboanga will represent the Philippines as part of the bracket. Zamboanga has put together an impressive eight-fight win streak, including three victories since she joined the ONE roster in 2019. Her last fight was in August, where she defeated Watsapinya Kaewkhong on scorecards.
The matchups for the first round of the tournament will be revealed by the promotion at a later date.
