Beginning another three-week series of events from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, ONE Championship presents “A New Breed” on Friday.
In the main event of the seven-fight card is a championship bout, as Stamp Fairtex puts her ONE Muay Thai 115-pound belt on the line against Allycia Hellen Rodriguez. Follow along through the morning for live updates.
Main Card (8:30AM EDT / 7:30PM ICT)
Bout 7: Stamp Fairtex vs. Allycia Hellen Rodrigues (115 lbs) (ONE Atomweight Muay Thai Championship)
Rodrigues Crowned New ONE Muay Thai Champion
In the main event, Allycia Hellen Rodrigues became the new ONE Atomweight Muay Thai Champion, defeating Stamp Fairtex via decision. The five-round fight saw Rodrigues out-strike Stamp in the later rounds as Stamp’s pace started to slow down.
Rodrigues, a fighter who trains out of Phuket Fight Club, made her first appearance in ONE with the win.
Stamp came into the fight as the champion. Stamp claimed the belt in early 2019, defeating Janet Todd to win the bout. She defended it once after, defeating Alma Juniku in June of 2019.
Stamp has competed in six ONE bouts since her previous Muay Thai fight, fighting in the promotion’s MMA and kickboxing divisions.
Stamp’s Muay Thai belt is the second championship she has lost this year, as she dropped her 115-pound kickboxing title to Janet Todd in February.
Bout 6: Rodlek PK.Saenchaimuaythaigym vs. Kulabdam Sor. Jor. Piek Uthai (145 lbs) (ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai Tournament Final)
Rodlek Wins Bantamweight Tournament With Win Over Kulabdam
Winning the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai four-man tournament, Rodlek PK.Saenchaimuaythaigym got a decision victory over Kulabdam Sor. Jor. Piek Uthai. The decision victory came after a dominating performance from Rodlek, dropping Kulabdam in the second and third rounds of the fight..
Rodlek lost in the first round of the tournament against Saemapetch Fairtex, although since Saemapetch pulled out due to injury, Rodlek took his spot in the final.
A cut developed on Rodlek’s forehead in the second round of the fight, causing him to bleed for a large portion of the fight.
“I got a little bit scared that the doctor would stop the fight, [due to the cut]” said Rodlek in his post-fight interview.
Kulabdam punched his ticket into the finals on the “No Surrender 3” card, defeating Sangmanee Klong Suanpluresort in the first round with a punch.
Bout 5: Denice Zamboanga (7-0) vs. Watsapinya Kaewkhong (0-0) (115 lbs)
Zamboanga Earns Third ONE Win, Remains Undefeated
Remaining undefeated, Denice Zamboanga stopped Watsapinya Kaewkhong in the first round via americana. The fight was a stoppage that came shortly after Zamboanga secured a takedown.
Zamboanga has had two previous wins in ONE, with decision wins over Jihin Radzuan and Mei Yamaguchi.
“I fought the same card as my brother, I’m happy we both won tonight,” said Zamboanga in her post-fight interview, referring to the win from Drex Zamboanga earlier in the night.
The fight was the MMA debut for Kaewkhong, who had a previous background in Muay Thai.
Bout 4: Wondergirl Fairtex vs. KC Carlos (115 lbs) (Muay Thai Bout)
Wondergirl Picks Up Second ONE Victory
Getting her second win in ONE, Wondergirl Fairtex won over KC Carlos via doctors stoppage. The win came in the second round after strikes injured the nose of Carlos, causing the fight to be stopped.
Wondergirl was the stronger striker throughout the fight, landing a story array of knees, kicks and punches.
Wondergirl made her ONE debut in her previous fight, defeating Brooke Farrell within a round in her last appearance.
Bout 3: Drex Zamboanga (8-5) vs. Detchadin Sornsirisuphathin (8-5) (135 lbs)
Zamboanga Chokes Out Sornsisisuphathin
Winning in his ONE debut, Drex Zamboanga stopped Detchadin Sornsirisuphathin late in the second round via rear naked choke. The stoppage saw Zamboanga earn a buzzer-beater victory, choking Sornsirisuphathin unconscious moments before the second round was set to run out of time.
Sornsirisuphathin had appeared on ONE programming before, having fought four times before in the promotion’s “Warrior Series.”
Drex is the brother of Denice Zamboanga, who is set to compete later on the card.
Bout 2: Huang Ding vs. Sok Thy (135 lbs) (Muay Thai Bout)
Sok Earns Body Shot Victory Over Huang
In the first Muay Thai bout of the evening, Sok Thy stopped Huang Ding late in the first round with a body shot finish. The fight ended abruptly, as a body shot caused a delayed reaction that kept Huang down for the 10 count.
“I really feel happy. This is my first win in ONE Championship,” said a translator for Sok after the fight.
Both fighters were coming off of losses.
Ding’s last fight was on ONE’s “No Surrender 2” show, losing via decision to Fahdi Khaled.
Losing on the following “No Surrender 3” show, Sok Thy was not favoured on a scorecard fight against Mongkolpetch Petchyindee Academy.
Bout 1: Yodkaikaew Fairtex (5-2-1) vs. Alex Schild (5-3) (135 lbs)
Yodkaikaew Kicks His Way To Victory
Kicking off the card, Yodkaikaew Fairtex stopped Alex Schild in the third round of an MMA bout with leg kicks. Stopping the wrestling ability of Schild, Yodkaikaew was able to chip away and get a finish win.
Yodkaikaew’s kicks became a big factor in the fight late in the second round, dropping Schild numerous times.
Yodkaikaew made his ONE debut earlier in the month, defeating John Shink in the second round of an MMA bout.
