Two new matchups have recently been reported for UFC’s May 8th event. The fights join a card that does not have a confirmed location at the moment.
Jimmy Flick vs. Francisco Figueiredo
Both coming back after having successful UFC debuts, Jimmy Flick and Francisco Figueiredo have been paired up, as first announced by The Corner & The Casual podcast.
Flick had a successful UFC debut in late 2020, submitting Cody Durden with a triangle choke in the first round. The win gave Flick a “Performance of the Night” bonus.
The former LFA Flyweight Champion earned his UFC contract by defeating Nate Smith on “Dana White’s Contender Series.”
Figueiredo fought to a decision against Jerome Rivera in his January UFC debut. The fight was his return to action, as his previous bout was in September of 2019.
Roxanne Modafferi vs. Taila Santos
Taila Santos will wager a two-fight win streak when fighting MMA veteran Roxanne Modafferi in May. Marcelo Barone of Combate was the first to report the bout.
Santos had a strong 2020, earning her first UFC win in a decision over Molly McCann then returning in December to defeat Gillian Robertson on scorecards.
Modafferi will be coming back after losing a decision to Viviane Araujo in January. Modafferi’s current UFC run has a record of four wins and five losses, alternating between the two since she joined the roster in 2018.
